Dear Sherri, My name is Katie and I'm a seventeen year old senior in High School. The past 17 Christmas's I've had in my life, I believe that I have taken so much for granted. All I have worried about is gifts I would be receiving, rather than gifts I could give. This year, I finally grew the maturity to realize that Christmas is so much more than that. I am determined to help others and spread the light of Jesus Christ, truly brining back the Christ in Christmas in my life. Therefore, I was googling Christmas charities that I could help out with, and luckily I came across this site. I found your story, and it truly broke my heart. The fact that you have a 16 year old boy, basically my age, allowed me to empathize with your situation, only imagining how I would feel if it were to happen to me. I also have 4 younger brothers and sisters, so your other 2 younger children I can also empathize with, because I realize how much getting Christmas gifts especially means to little kids. For once, I'm not concerned with what I will be getting for Christmas, and want to help you and your family. So tell me, what can I do to help? If you'd like, you could give me a shopping list and I could go out and get the gifts you need, considering I'm sure you're extremely overburdened with everything that's going on in your life right now. If not, I'd be happy to give as much of a donation as I can to help you. I've been working the past three summers, and have been taking many babysitting jobs recently, and I want to put that money to good use.
